Insurance Regulation of the European Union
This course aims to provide an overview of the rules on the insurance market that the European Union has issued. Therefore, the topics are unrelated to a specific EU country. The course will refer to the regulations applying to all the Member States of the European Union. Such rules are mainly related to (re)insurance undertakings and (re)insurance intermediaries and regulate the access to the activity and business conduct, including customer/policyholder’s protection. Although each Member State laws regulate the insurance contract, some EU rules influence national rules on the insurance contract. Therefore, the course will provide evidence of this influence.
