Managing Arts| Culture and the Creative Industries in the Asia Pacific Region

This course will provide participants with an understanding of the global, political, economic and cultural environment in which the arts operate in the Asia Pacific region. It addresses both the roles of arts in society and the role of government and the private sector in relation to culture and the creative industries. The economic, social and political dimensions of the arts and culture are considered. The growth and development of the creative industries as key economic and social indicators in cities and countries in Asia is also explored, along with the role of arts and culture in promoting tourism in many
Asian countries.
