This course will focus on the American political system and should provide students a firm grounding in American government and major contemporary political issues, as we examine institutions and approaches to public policy and economic issues. It will also discuss less formal social, cultural, and demographic transformations that impact party loyalties, voting behavior, and attitudes toward globalization and modernization.
