Participants will gain insights into the varying political, economic, and business landscapes of European, US and Asian countries, understanding the nuances that distinguish these regions. We will delve into the impact of China on the EU, examining China‘s growing importance on other regions, and contrasting Asian and Western-led international organizations like the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, International Monetary Fund and the World Trade Organization.
The course will critically assess the globalization of international trade and finance, exploring its economic-political consequences. It will address the reasons behind the success or failure of nationstates in this globalized context. Additionally, the course will analyze the economic and political advantages of power shift towards the East, and how Asian competitors are able to reshape the global political economy.
