This course aims to introduce undergraduate students to the psychological development of infants, children and adolescents and related support measures.
The course will provide insights on topics and provide students with a theoretical framework for understanding children‘s behavior. In addition, the course will provide practical tools to guide and support the psychological function of children and adolescents. The course also briefly introduces the field of developmental psychopathology and discusses some common mental disorders and related support measures in childhood and adolescence. The course will also be introduced and illustrated with examples from actual clinical practice in Belgium. This will help college students increase their academic knowledge and understand relevant European characteristics or cultural differences in this field.

When problems arise in psychological development; case analysis of childhood mental illness
• Develop elements of psychopathology, including the interaction of genes with the environment.
• Brief introduction to some common mental disorders and coping strategies in children and adolescents
