This course provides undergraduate students with some key perspectives of Vietnamese Sinology in the relationship with Chinese traditional culture. Under the instruction by the teacher and discussion with classmates, students will discover Chinese-origined words in Vietnamese language, classical texts, Chinese scripts, Nom script, Confucianism, civil service examinations, printing woodblock culture, etc. in Vietnam, which will inspire them to think of the similarities and differences between Chinese and Vietnamese traditional cultures.
