Aims and Objectives
• Provide students with a solid knowledge of the key concepts and models in economic growth.
• Provide students with an understanding of main questions like, why are some countries richer than others, what makes countries grow at different rates, will the living standards converge across countries?
• Provide students with the tools necessary to predict and evaluate the outcomes of changes
in the economy. The topics covered include factor accumulation, human capital, institutions, technology and efficiency. The student will be able to critically evaluate arguments concerning growth.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to critically evaluate commonly used arguments concerning growth.
